Specialties: Teaching classical singing technique and applying it to all singing styles. Expert with teaching both male and female voices, beginning to advanced students, ages 11 to seniors. Extensive experience preparing students for auditions of all kinds and preparing students for musical theater and opera roles.
Credentials: Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance, University of Georgia. Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Bachelor of Music in Music Education, both from Ohio University. Dr. Thomas has taught for The Peabody Preparatory, Morgan State University, and The University of Maryland, Baltimore County in Baltimore, Maryland, as well as Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa and Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She is a 27-year member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and has extensive singing experience singing opera, musical theater, recital literature, oratorio, and chamber and church music. She is also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and Pi Kappa Lambda Honorary Music Society.

Other Services: Dr. Thomas is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and has taught Alexander Technique for the past 13 years. Dr. Thomas teaches private Alexander Technique lessons as well as onsite workshops and classes. Students in Dr. Thomas' studio have the option of studying Alexander Technique as well as voice.
Additional Information: Dr. Thomas has much experience directing musicals and operas. In lessons every aspect of singing technique is taught as well as musicianship, interpretation, and performance skills. Dr. Thomas works with singers who sing a variety of musical styles. One does not need to be a classical or musical theater singer to study with Dr. Thomas.
