I'll meet you where you're at starting from the skills you already have (and you already DO have some even if you don't think they're very musical) and building on those. Eventually my goal is to guide you into learning to play by ear while complimenting the practical with the theoretical. I believe in engaging with music theory only insofar as it is helpful or interesting to the student. I believe practicing is 80% meditation and 20% application, and that skill is derived from a prepared mind.
